Sadie Waterford Jones

Sadie Waterford Jones, (1889 - 1986), founded the Sadie Waterford Jones Manor, a halfway house for girls near Chicago, Illinois. Her life long dream as a social worker was to provide a counseling and guidance service for African American girls within a home setting. She wasn't able to open the home until 1974, but at age 85, Waterford Jones was able to complete her dream.
