  • I subscribed to the free biography series, but I haven't received any. Why not?

Did you confirm your subscription? You must confirm your free subscription. We automatically send you an e-mail with a request for you to confirm.

All you have to do is click on the link in the e-mail to confirm your subscription.

AOL users (and a few others) may have to copy the link and paste it into your web browser "address box." Turn off your pop-up blocker.

This confirmation procedure is called a "double opt-in" system, designed to further protect your privacy.

If your e-mail in-box was full when we tried to send you the confirmation e-mail, try subscribing a second time.

  • I tried to confirm my free subscription for your biographies, but was not successful.

It is best to confirm your subscription right away. You'll have approximately two weeks to respond. After two weeks, if you haven't confirmed your free subscription, your first name and email address will be automatically removed from our system.

  • I signed up for your free biographies, received your confirmation email, but changed my mind and do not want to confirm my free subscription. Am I automatically subscribed to any other of your mailing lists?

No. If you changed your mind, and did not confirm your free subscription, you first name and email address are automatically erased from our database.

You don't have to do anything. Do not reply to the confirmation email asking us to remove your name and email address because, once again...you'll be automatically erased from our list if you don't confirm your free subscription within two weeks.

But remember, you will not be able to take advantage of the free biographies, or any other black history information we may offer exclusively to our subscribers in the future.

  • How long does it take to start receiving the free biographies?

Once you have confirmed your free subscription, our system immediately sends you the first six biographies in the series (instantly in one email). Using Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, or AOL mail may slow down delivery of your email. Please be patient.

You'll then receive one email each day for a week with the rest of our promised biographies.

Please don't email our support staff and ask if there is a cost for this series. There is no cost.

  • How Do I download QuikHistory365, The Black History People Toolbar, or the Empower Encyclopedia Screen Savers?

"Right mouse click" on the "Download" link on the QuikHistory365 information page, or the download links on the Black History Toolbar or Empower Encyclopedia Screen Saver pages.

You'll see a menu like this open up:

Right Click to download QuikHistory365 from Black History People

In Internet Explorer, Choose "Save Target As..." and download the file to your desktop (in Netscape choose "Save Link As...").

Once you select "save target as" or "save link as," a download screen will open up asking you where you would like to save the file on your computer.

Save As to download QuikHistory365 from Black History People

You should save the file to your "Desktop," or to another folder you can easily find. Once you have dowloaded the file, go to your desktop, (or the folder you selected to save the file in), and double click the file. This will launch our installation program.
